I remember a time before the internet. I remember when we had to send letters through the mail and call people at home! 

This is a new day, and the internet continues to grow in my lifetime. And while we can reach more people than ever before online, our growing internet presence can leave us vulnerable to attacks.

Friends -- I worry about my online security. But I feel safe knowing that Yvette is working hard every day -- in her role as Chair of the House Cybersecurity Subcommittee -- to protect Americans online. We’re calling on President Biden to prioritize security in the American Jobs Plan. Can you join our fight?

We have to raise the baseline cybersecurity posture across all of our government entities and the private sector to reduce cyberattacks so that we can focus our talent, time, and resources on preventing, detecting, and eliminating more sophisticated attacks. Raising the nation’s baseline cybersecurity posture will require investing in modern, more secure technologies and authorizing cybersecurity grants for state and local governments.

Expansions to broadband internet must come with intentional improvements to our nation’s cybersecurity. We can’t wait until we’ve already been attacked to put our defenses up; we need to be proactive. Can you sign on, folks, and tell President Biden to prioritize cybersecurity?
