John,

Former SEEC member Deb Haaland was confirmed as Secretary of the Interior on March 15 — just six weeks ago.

But Secretary Haaland has moved quickly to ensure the department prioritizes climate change, including revoking several Trump administration orders promoting fossil fuel development on public lands and waters.

Additionally, she rescinded a Trump-era order intended to expand oil drilling in Alaska’s Natural Petroleum Reserve.

Secretary Haaland made clear her new directives “will make our communities more resilient to climate change and help lead the transition to a clean energy economy.”

It’s another example of how former and current SEEC members are leaders in tackling climate change. That’s why, John, we’re asking you to make a sustaining monthly contribution so we can keep achieving these key victories while expanding our bench of pro-environment leaders. Can we count you in?

Secretary Deb Haaland was confirmed in large part because dedicated supporters like you spoke up and demanded the Senate accept her nomination. By highlighting Deb Haaland’s outstanding qualifications equipping her to lead the Interior Department, a grassroots movement made sure she was confirmed.

Your sustaining contribution will help us elect more pro-environment members to Congress who will help lead the fight to save our planet.

Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
