Since its original introduction last year, DFA members have been working
hard to make sure that we pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.

Now thanks to the work of millions of Americans and DFA members like you,
support for the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021 is gaining
momentum.

This landmark civil rights and police reform bill that would reimagine
policing and hold law enforcement accountable nationwide has the support
of the Biden Administration.

The bill's House sponsor Karen Bass stated it well when she said "At some
point, our nation needs to make a decision about how many more instances
of police brutality do we need to witness before we do something about
it.”

While Derek Chauvin being charged on all counts has delivered
accountability for his actions, it does not bring the equitable justice
America needs. What will bring justice is creating a system in which no
one is murdered by police.

This bill is a blueprint to overhaul our broken criminal justice system
and policing in America.

The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act is an important step forward in
re-imagining public safety and holding police accountable across the
country. We must take this important step right now to prevent more people
from being killed or severely injured by law enforcement.

That's why, DFA members are on the front lines of the fight to demand
police accountability, elect transformational leaders to critical local
