New changes to fare structure have been proposed by Port Authority:
- Free transfers for riders using ConnectCard stored-value
- Weekly & Monthly passes will shift to 7 & 31-day passes that start on the day you tap them instead of by the calendar-based schedule.
- The ConnectCard stored-value fare will increase to $2.75
A public comment period to give feedback on the proposal is open until May 5th. Review our talking points and give your feedback today.
These proposals are a good start, but they need to go further. The pandemic has made it blatantly obvious how essential public transit is for low-income people. But many of these riders will not receive any benefit from these changes. We need to pass these proposals quickly and move on to more systemic fare changes.
