It was an honor to join my friend Joe Kennedy for his virtual event last week. For those of you that don’t know me, I’m Rev. Dieufort Fleurissaint and I’m the chair of the True Alliance Center and Haitian Americans United in Massachusetts.
Most folks call me Pastor Keke.
I’ve been organizing and advocating for Boston’s Haitian-American community for decades. Which is why I’m so excited to be a part of the Democracy HUBS, a new civic engagement effort in Massachusetts really making an impact.
I’m asking you to support Democracy HUBS with a contribution today. Chip in now.
Organizing in communities of color means doing more than parachuting in during election season. It means resourcing those that understand our culture, understand our issues, and allowing those leaders to guide the voter engagement process.
Through the resources and training provided by Democracy HUBS our communities are equipped to represent ourselves. This is leaving a lasting legacy that will strengthen not only one community but the state and nation as a whole.
I see and hear it all the time. Voters are surprised to receive a call from their own, people from their own race, speaking to them in their own language. Every day we are breaking down barriers in terms of representation and making engagement accessible to all.
When you donate to organizations like Democracy HUBS you are powering the breaking down of barriers. You are lifting up leaders in communities that are too often denied representation and ensuring they have the resources to make an impact.
We know how to stretch every dollar so I assure you every contribution will make an impact. Can I count on you to chip in now?
Thank you for lifting up the voices in my community with your contribution,
Pastor Keke
