LAST CHANCE! Now is the time to
stand for welcome.
On April 16, the Biden administration announced that they would not be raising the refugee admissions ceiling (also known as the Presidential Determination) from 15,000—a historic low—despite promises to welcome 62,500 refugees in FY21 and 125,000 in FY22. The outcry from refugee resettlement agencies and politicians from both sides of the aisle was swift, and the administration indicated that they will release a new Presidential Determination on or before May 15.
Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service is calling for President Biden to keep his promises to the thousands of vulnerable children and families who seek refuge on our shores. Join us TOMORROW, Tuesday, April 27 for "Our Call to Care: Restoring Welcome through Refugee Resettlement" to learn more about the Presidential Determination, the refugee resettlement process, and how you can raise your voice to restore welcome.
