Hi folks, I’m about to ask you to chip in toward our end-of-month deadline, but first, I hope you will give me a chance to explain why this request is so important, especially today.

You may not know this, but emails like this one are a large, essential part of our budget — keeping the lights on for our campaign and allowing me to stay focused on the job at hand. Our work is truly powered by folks like you chipping in what you can when you can.
