I’m thrilled to announce that Progressive Women of NY and Moms in Office have endorsed my candidacy for Manhattan Borough President. With less than two months until Election Day, this is big news for our campaign, and shows that our campaign is gaining momentum. 

Both of these amazing organizations help elect strong progressive women throughout New York and the country — because they know that real change starts with equal representation, and with leaders who have the courage to get the job done.

Right now, New York City desperately needs more women in office. Just 11 of our 51 council members are women, and only one of the five current Borough Presidents is a woman. A woman has also never served as Mayor, or as Manhattan DA.

This lack of equal representation in government limits progress as a whole. Studies show when more women are in government, there is more progressive reform, fewer discriminatory laws, and much less corruption.
