The risk of exposure to COVID-19 is still very real.
We need to be extra vigilant and mitigate the risks of infection, particularly for those who are older or who have pre-existing conditions. For the sake of our collective health, please remember to wear a mask when you leave your home, practice social distancing, and wash your hands frequently. This pandemic has shown us that the health of one is the health of all so we all need to take responsibility for our common well-being.
There are some easy ways to safely stay connected to the chapter, such as: signing-up on the front page of our website to receive our weekly newsletter, and checking the calendar on the site for upcoming virtual events.

Want to represent DSA-LA as a delegate to the DSA National Convention? (Info event tonight!)
DSA-LA has been allotted 77 delegate slots and 15 alternates to represent our chapter at the 2021 DSA National Convention! We will be hosting elections to find out who will represent our chapter at the upcoming virtual convention taking place from August 1-8. All members who are interested in learning more about the organization at a national level are encouraged to apply!

- Thursday, May 6 - Wednesday, May 19 — Elections

Join us this May Day as we celebrate the radicals who came before us, and all of the comrades in the international struggle today. We celebrate the workers who filled the streets to demand an 8-hour work day, the demonstrators who have marched against war and for immigrants’ rights, and all of the workers organizing during a global pandemic for safe working conditions, a living wage, and the right to form a union.
Please remember to observe social distancing, wear a mask, and wear DSA gear!

Education Workers Circle Meeting

Education Workers Circle is a Labor Circle started in the Labor Committee aimed at creating a progressive-left space for teachers and workers in the K-12 and university environment. Join us as we talk more about building power in the workplace and our unions, from public and charter schools to the university campus.
Anyone who works in a school or university campus interested in building worker power inside and outside the classroom is invited to join!

This Skill Share will be both a lesson in the basic elements/principles of graphic design as well as a live demo for how to put those skills to practical use for your various events and promotions! The focus will be to provide a broad overview on how to use typography, color and composition for effective visual communication, as well as to provide technical knowledge on file formats, color management, sizing for social media, etc. We will also provide resources on finding open-source programs, fonts, vectors and other elements, while also providing direction on where you can continue to learn through free tutorials.
