Dear John,
We are on the brink of a new activist era that could see landmark achievements to strengthen and protect women’s rights. And frankly, it’s all thanks to feminists like you, John.
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, along with the feminist leaders of the House and Senate, are fighting for a progressive agenda that is long overdue. Feminists are now chairing hearings and setting legislative priorities that will last for generations. And YOU are pushing them even further by powering our movement for change.
But these goals, which are overwhelmingly popular outside of the Republican caucus in the U.S. Senate, require NOW’s activism, grassroots strength, and strong voice for intersectional feminism to succeed. That’s why I’m so glad you’re with us.
Together, we helped elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, we turned the tide in Georgia in the Senate runoffs. Stacey Abrams, LaTosha Brown and other activists made all the difference in Georgia, and their example inspires us all.
I hope the tone for this era was set by Amanda Gorman’s moving inaugural poem, that we are indeed “a nation that isn’t broken …but simply unfinished”
I know how much we can do together, and I’m looking forward to every day of the journey.
