John — Barbara has wasted no time getting to work in the new term and making history in the House.

Along with her colleagues on the Judiciary Committee, Barbara helped pass H.R. 40 to bring reparations legislation to the House floor. Coming over 30 years after the bill was first introduced, this is a monumental step toward tackling systemic racism through reparations.

Restorative justice can’t wait any longer, and H.R. 40 would establish a commission to study and develop reparation proposals for African-Americans.

That’s not all — Barbara also teamed up with Sen. Bernie Sanders this week on Wall Street tax legislation to rein in corporate greed and tackle wealth inequality, and reintroduced the Green New Deal with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ed Markey.
