John,
For centuries, America has been known as the "Land of
Opportunity."? Hundreds of millions of men, women, and children --
including the ancestors of the vast majority of Americans -- left
everything behind because they had faith this country held unique
opportunities available nowhere else in the world.
Yet too many Americans, across the political spectrum, fear that is
no longer true.? It's become harder and harder to work hard, play by
the rules, and live a comfortable life -- one without constant worry.
And a big reason for that is the skyrocketing costs of housing,
healthcare, childcare, and college -- without wages keeping pace.? The
status quo isn't just hurting America's middle class, it's making it
even harder to get there.
This isn't a new problem -- so why haven't our leaders addressed
these challenges through compromise and collaboration for the benefit
of all Americans?? That's the subject of Country First's latest
video:
Addressing these issues should be the primary focus of both
Republicans and Democrats, yet our political parties might as well be
on different planets.? Fighting, blaming, and fear mongering have
replaced policymaking, collaboration, and compromise.? That has to
change if America is to remain the beacon of opportunity it's always
been.?
We cannot rest on our laurels and hope things will miraculously
change.? Conversation, collaboration, and compromise are the cures to
this toxicity, and Country First is working to build and set the table
where reasonable people of goodwill can find common ground to solve
our problems.? Country First has never been about prescribing the
policies that will work best -- it's about creating the fundamental
change that will allow us to discover and pursue them.
Please share this video far and wide -- to your friends, your
family; to those who agree with you, and those who don't; and on any
social media platforms you use.? We must spread this positive,
optimistic vision for our country, and the belief that despite our
troubles, despite our challenges, we remain the Land of Opportunity.?
That is America's promise, and we must keep it.
Country First,
Adam
