I was on the House Floor on January 6 when violent insurrectionists attempted to overthrow the results of our democratic elections and do harm to my colleagues and me in the Capitol.
And having prosecuted the impeachment case to the Senate, I have an intimate understanding of how Donald Trump’s election lies — fueled and spread by many of his Republican allies in Congress — led to the violent events that took place that day.
That’s why reading headlines like this makes me sick:
Yesterday, The Washington Post reported that extremist Republicans who tried to get the election overturned have been raking in money hand-over-fist from small-dollar donors.
John: This is personal for me. We cannot let these Republicans raise money off of their treasonous attempts to throw an election for Donald Trump. Please rush $5 or more to our campaign to help us fight back against well-funded Republicans and set the record straight about what really happened on January 6.
The time for us to rest on our laurels is long gone. I need to know that you have my back as the 2022 midterms heat up, starting now by helping us keep up with record-setting GOP fundraising. Are you with me?
