Why is a union's thumping in Alabama significant?
The Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union made a big play to organize an Amazon warehouse in Bessemer, Alabama--and failed badly. The workers, most of them black, humiliated the union with a vote of 738 to 1,798 against unionization. Yet if the PRO Act becomes law, the National Labor Relations Board could declare a union victory despite the workers' clear wishes. CRC's Michael Watson reports on these and other implications here.

Why are American corporations going increasingly "woke"?
Conservatives are rightly vexed by "woke capitalism," the trend of big corporations to plunge increasingly into politics by mouthing leftish positions and sometimes taking significant actions. Public pressure drives some of this, but shareholder activists are also a major cause. They coordinate campaigns to insert their "woke" priorities into corporate boardrooms. Who is Hansjörg Wyss?
Swiss billionaire and leftist mega-donor Hansjörg Wyss recently tried to purchase the parent company of the Chicago Tribune and other failing American newspapers. Wyss is a long-time major donor to left-wing causes, including Arabella Advisors' "dark money" network. He's also know for donating to Democratic political action committees in seeming violation of federal law and for funding States Newsroom, a group of partisan attack sites posing as impartial news outlets. CRC's Hayden Ludwig exposes Wyss's political machinations here.

What are the lockdowns' unintended consequences?
With social distancing, mask mandates, and lockdowns, we have deliberately fragmented society to protect ourselves from a disease. Americans have willingly let government control some very basic personal decisions--something unthinkable before the pandemic. Is the PTA a Teachers Union Stooge?

In this episode: We've covered extensively the prolonged closures of schools, supposedly required by the COVID-19 pandemic. Teachers unions still insist, even after their members receive vaccination priority or when school districts conduct disruptive "pandemic theater" like closing for deep cleaning (which even the teachers-union, er, "stakeholder"-compromised CDC admits is unnecessary) that in-person schooling is somehow "unsafe." The unions don't care they have no evidence for the claim.

Parents seeking to raise pressure with school officials to reopen schools might have thought to turn to the Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), the largest organizations supposedly representative of parents' interests. But as our guest Luke Rosiak of the Daily Wire has documented, the PTAs are in fact deeply intertwined with the teachers unions, and often function as little more than appendages for the far-left advocacy of Big Labor.
