Not to be deterred by fiscal sanity, logic, or embarrassment, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY), aka “AOC,” is back at it again and has reintroduced “The Green New Deal.”
She must figure the COVID tyranny didn’t shut down enough businesses in the last year and now must finish the job of obliterating small business in America for good.
This is proof that climate change is for progressive Democrats what terrorism is for neoconservative Republicans: a ready-made excuse to expand government and curtail liberty.
When AOC introduced this fantastical plan two years ago, it was roundly laughed at and didn’t get any momentum in Congress, but it certainly was the subject of a lot of headlines.
And for good reason – this plan is nothing short of economic devastation for generations to come:
>>This radical plan would authorize the U.S. government to seize control of major sectors of the U.S. economy
>>It would phase out
gasoline-fueled cars
>>It would mandate wasting $Billions on tearing down existing buildings only to rebuild them
>>It would phase out air travel to replace it with
rail travel
The Green New Deal also goes beyond protecting the environment and wades into social justice initiatives such as:
>>”Providing all people of the United States with high-quality health care; affordable, safe, and adequate housing;
economic security; and clean water, clean air, healthy and affordable food, and access to nature.”
>>”Guarantee a job with a family-sustaining wage, adequate and medical leave, paid
vacations, and retirement security to all people of the United States.”
>>Guarantee “direct replacement of lost wages, health care, retirement, and other benefits for workers
affected by the transition” to another “high quality union job.”
None of this sounds like letting the free market work the way it should.
In fact, all of these horrible ideas would cause complete economic destruction of entire industries in our country that millions upon millions of people depend on for their jobs and livelihoods.
Sanity needs to prevail, with Congress opposing all parts of this plan immediately.

Patriot, some may want to write this plan off as theatrics, but if there’s anything that the last year has demonstrated, it’s that the tyrants in D.C. are willing shut down millions of businesses at the drop of the hat.
We must oppose this now before a single one of the horrible ideas in this plan finds its way into another bill, including the massive multi-trillion dollar infrastructure bill being pushed by the Biden White House.
Supporters of the Green New Deal claim the science regarding the risk of climate change is “settled.”
However, the science is far from settled. Many of the claims have been debunked.
Some supporters of policies like the Green New Deal have actually supported criminalizing dissent from the so-called “settled” science of climate change.
This reveals the authoritarianism of some people demanding Americans give up real liberty and prosperity because of phantom fears of impending environmental disaster.
Like all forms of socialism, the Green New Deal suffers from what Ludwig von Mises identified as the “calculation problem.” In other words, none of the numbers add up.
The Green New Deal rejects all concepts of free market forces, which are based on efficient use of resources and replaces it with brute government force and manipulation of markets.
When government uses force to remove resources from the marketplace, it makes it impossible for the price system to function, leaving government officials and private citizens unable to determine the most efficient use of resources.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez brazenly dismisses concerns regarding the almost 100 trillion dollar ten-year cost of implementing the Green New Deal by suggesting that Congress simply make the Federal Reserve pay for it by creating new money.
Not only is the Green New Deal a shutdown of entire industries in this country, but it also opens the door for the Federal Reserve to inflate the currency by 100 Trillion dollars!
This is absolute madness.

The Green New Deal would, in addition to its other negative impacts, hasten and deepen the inevitable Federal Reserve-caused economic crisis facing America.
It would also continue to pump up the hidden tax of inflation.
With 5 Trillion dollars in Corona bailouts being pumped into the economy over the last 12 months, that inflation is starting to become very obvious from commodities to food at the grocery store.
Imagine 20 times that amount with AOC’s preposterous Green New Deal.
The Green New Deal is nothing more than the same old deal the statists have been trying to force on us for years.
Don’t be lulled into thinking passage of the Green New Deal is a pipe dream.

After all, at one time, the income tax, the Federal Reserve, and government-managed healthcare also seemed like pipe dreams.
What these and other expansions of government power had in common was those behind them never stopped pushing to enact their agenda. . .
And opponents to those statist schemes did not mobilize to fight them until it was too late.
