 Families are being forced out of their homes and we need to stop it Dear Supporter, I want you to take a moment and imagine being forced to watch your home being raided by illegal settlers. I want you to imagine what it would feel like to watch people who seek nothing but your destruction take what’s rightfully yours and your family’s and you being powerless to do anything about it. This is what’s happening in Sheikh Jarrah right now. More than 550 Palestinian residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem are at risk of being violently forced out of their rightfully-owned homes by Israeli settlers. We are asking that you sign our petition to Stop Israel’s Illegal Expulsion of Palestinians in Jerusalem to demand an end to Israel’s real-time settlement expansion activities. Four of the 28 families in the neighborhood are on the verge of being kicked out of their homes in May. Backed by Israeli settler groups, forcing Palestinian families out of their homes is a key part of Israel’s long-held policy of demographic engineering to ‘Israelize” the city. Two US-backed Israeli settler organizations initiated numerous “eviction” lawsuits against families in Jerusalemite neighborhoods over the past decade. Over 1,500 Palestinians from across the city are also facing imminent forced displacement and home demolitions by the Israeli authorities. Private US institutions and the Israeli authorities are actively collaborating to advance illegal settlement activities. Palestinians continue to face ongoing forced expulsion from their land since the 1948 Nakba. Sign the petition to demand that Palestinians have a right to live in their rightfully-owned homes as stipulated by international law, just like anyone else. Sincerely,
