Welcome to The Agenda (yeah - THAT agenda), your weekly update on what's happening in the LGBTQ political world. Whatever you do, don’t forward it to Mike Pence. He doesn't need to know what we're planning! Forward it to a friend instead.

Overview: Danica under attack, our first candidate takeover and more!
VIRGINIA IS FOR LGBTQ CANDIDATES
We’ll start with the bad news: Kelly McGinn’s campaign issued a mail piece attacking Spotlight candidate Danica Roem for supporting a bill that Danica… did not support.
A strange vehicle has also been spotted driving around Danica’s district, covered with anti-LGBTQ messaging.
• Meanwhile, Danica continues to be a national figure. She recently stopped by the University of Tennessee to talk about running as an openly trans candidate.
Danica also celebrated her birthday last week – by hosting a town hall on continued improvements to the DMV’s notoriously battered Rt. 28.
Want to join us in wishing Danica a very happy (if a little late) birthday? Sign her card and leave a note here!

FEEL THE PETE WAVE
We only have one edit to this Washington Post headline: Pete Buttigieg is the *candidate to watch.
Mayor Pete seems to have eased into a comfortable campaign groove, claiming fourth in a recent national poll.
And with a newly released fundraising haul of $19.1 million for quarter 3, Team Pete can continue their travel schedule blitz. Next stop? California.

TAKEOVER THURSDAYS
Did you follow along with Karl Frisch’s candidate takeover yesterday? Catch up with the man running to be the only openly LGBTQ member of the Fairfax County School Board.
Dive into why Karl made the choice to run for office (hint: it has to do with creating a better future for LGBTQ kids) and how running for office is about doing your homework.
From starting his day with coffee with his partner to supporting other LGBTQ candidates and allies, running for office is never boring!
And while running, never forget that the most important thing you can do as an LGBTQ candidate is meet your constituents. At town halls, while knocking doors, wherever you can!
A big thank you to Karl for sharing his campaign with us! Learn a little bit more about his campaign and race here.
THAT'S A WRAP!
Game Changer Gina Ortiz Jones spoke with Splinter News and gave a quick update on her current race for Congress – and how she’s ready to win in 2020 (especially after raising $1 million last quarter)!
Big news for Alaska's capital: Congratulations to Greg Smith, who won his race to be Juneau’s first openly LGBTQ Assembly Member! There are currently six openly LGBTQ elected officials serving in the state.
