It is sad that in this day and age that politics has become so partisan that Republicans will even work against us on common-sense issues like putting Americans back to work by fixing our infrastructure and rebuilding our country.
President Biden’s American Jobs Plan framework represents what people in Northeastern Pennsylvania and across the nation not only need, but expect us to do as responsible leaders. The proposal prioritizes repairs to our road and transit systems, while also recognizing the modern nature of our infrastructure system with investments in rural broadband, school upgrades, and much more.
But partisan Republicans would prefer to block anything with Joe Biden’s name on it, even if it means the risk of letting our infrastructure continue to crumble. It’s disappointing, but it shows exactly where their minds are at. Instead of working with us to rebuild our nation, they’d rather obstruct if it means they could retake Congress so they can pass legislation on their terms.
