This is a longtime Republican-held seat. But the district has become extremely competitive in recent election cycles due to demographic shifts.

Just look at the presidential numbers in TX-06: Mitt Romney defeated Barack Obama here by 17 points in 2012. President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton by 12 points in 2016. But in 2020, President Trump only prevailed by a narrow 3-point margin!
