Team: For the first time in our country’s history, President Biden declared gun violence an epidemic in America, and took executive action to stop things like ghost guns and other hard-to-track firearms from getting in the hands of dangerous people. But President Biden’s action does not relieve Congress of our responsibility to act -- which is why House Democrats passed the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, which would require background checks on all firearm sales in America. More than 90% of Americans support universal background checks on gun sales, and it’s time for us to get this done. Will you sign on to demand that the Senate pass the Bipartisan Background Checks Act now?
Over the past several weeks, headlines have been dominated by stories about deadly shootings in Colorado, Indiana, Texas, Wisconsin, and across the country. This isn’t normal or acceptable. We have an obligation to take strong action to stop the deadly drumbeat of gun violence in our communities. If we fail to act, nothing will change, and generations to come will continue to grow up under the epidemic of gun violence. The House has done its job. Now, it’s the Senate’s turn: sign on to demand the Senate pass the Bipartisan Background Checks Act and stop gun violence now!
