There are only five weeks left in the legislative session.
What started as a slow session marked by recesses and pandemic-related precaution is beginning to adopt the frenetic pace typical of the tail end of the lawmaking process. Even with redistricting pushed off until the fall and HB 1600 attempting to delay sunset bills until 2023, legislators still need to button up almost every other major issue headlining this session.
If a bill has not been passed out of its assigned committee in the next week or two, its chances of becoming law are slim to none.
