Yesterday, the Senate voted on the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act, legislation that denounces discrimination against AAPI communities and creates a new position at the Department of Justice to speed up the review process for any COVID-19-related hate crimes.

And team — in a display of true bipartisanship — the Senate overwhelmingly passed the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act with a vote of 94-1.

The only member of the United States Senate to vote against working to end anti-Asian hate in this country?? Josh Hawley.

We just want to know which part he disagrees with, team. Does Sen. Hawley think anti-Asian hate in this country is simply a problem we don’t need to address?

His Republican colleagues agreed that we need to take bold action to end racism in this country. We’re demanding to know why Hawley decided to be the lone vote against this measure.
