Friend, I announced my first run for Congress four years ago this week.

I ran to protect the Affordable Care Act from the non-stop Republican efforts to destroy it, advocate for policies to end gun violence, and be a voice against the hate and extremism that was coming out of the Trump administration.

With the help of dedicated supporters like you, I flipped a seat that Republicans had held for nearly 40 years -- part of a historic wave of women elected to Congress in 2018.

With a new majority, we were able to move the political conversation in a more progressive direction by passing gun safety legislation, campaign finance reform, D.C. statehood, and more out of the House. And we put a stop to the legislative efforts to undermine the Affordable Care Act.

A lot of the last four years were spent trying to contain damage while trying to set an agenda for when we'd have sensible leadership again. We couldn't have made it through those years without your help.

Now, with a Democratic trifecta in Washington, we have the chance to make this a truly transformative moment for our country. I'm proud to have already voted for historic economic relief, I'm working hard to help pass infrastructure reinvestment, and I'm championing all the progressive bills that the House has recently sent to the Senate -- including H.R. 1.

Few could have predicted the last four years. But I'm so grateful for your steadfast support during that time -- and your commitment to fighting for a better future.

We are now in a position to deliver lasting and meaningful change for so many. So I'm asking for help as I continue to fight for our values and the policies that this moment demands.
