Dear Friend, I hope this email finds you and your family well. A few months ago, Bill Gates said that he thinks all wealthy countries should switch to 100% synthetic beef. He said we could get used to the taste and that it would be better for the environment. I’ve done a lot of work in Congress to protect the environment. I’m all for transition to a more sustainable economy based on renewable energy. But steak from a lab? That’s not a solution. That’s a science experiment. Beef is important to Nebraska. It’s our biggest industry. It’s world famous. What wine is to France, beef is to Nebraska. Fake meat would hurt our economy, and disrupt a key source of nutrition. America also has a good record in terms of livestock emissions. Let’s keep Nebraska beef on the menu. Please help us.
