Growing up in the Olympic Peninsula, I've had the privilege and joy of being near beautiful natural resources my whole life. I've made many memories here and seen the way members of my community rely upon these natural resources for jobs, recreation, and their quality of life.
It's heartbreaking that our children or grandchildren might not be able to make these same memories because of climate change. The science is clear: climate change is real. If we don't act now, our natural resources will be at risk, impacting our access to clean air and clean drinking water.

As your Representative, protecting our environment is one of my top priorities. It's why I'm supporting President Biden's American Jobs Plan which will invest in renewable energy jobs. It's why, on the Appropriations Committee, I've fought for funding to invest in renewable energy and to protect salmon and orca. It's why I introduced -- and the House passed -- my bill to protect some of the most environmentally sensitive lands and rivers of the Olympic Peninsula. It's why I've fought hard to protect access to clean drinking water and protect our wildlife. And it's why I recently joined the call to invest $10 billion in coastal restoration jobs to revitalize our coast and create green, local jobs!
