Dear John,

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s 2021 budget will nearly double the debt in a few short years and we need your help to stop the government from mortgaging your future.

We knew the budget was going to be bad news for taxpayers, but it’s even worse than we expected.

The deficit came in at $354 billion for 2020. Even though emergency programs will be winding down, this year the deficit will be a whopping $154 billion. Thanks to all this deficit spending, the government’s debt will reach $1.4 trillion by 2026, which is nearly double the pre-pandemic debt.

We can’t sugar coat this. Canada’s government finances are bad. And Trudeau doesn’t seem to have any plan to do anything about the growing debt problem. The words “balanced budget” are mentioned zero times in Trudeau’s 700+ page budget.

But we can’t just sit idly by while Trudeau drags our country further and further into debt. We need your help to push back.

Will you help us stop Trudeau’s deep dive into debt?

Please take a minute and help us push back against the government’s growing debt by signing the online PETITION here: https://www.taxpayer.com/petitions/stop-trudeau’s-debt-dive

When you’ve finished signing the online petition, could you quickly send it to your friends and family? We need all hands on deck to stop the Trudeau government from mortgaging our future.

Make no mistake about it. If Canadians don’t speak out against this debt and push Ottawa to rein in its out-of-control spending, your tax bill is going to go through the roof. Your children and grandchildren will also be paying for Trudeau’s massive debt tab.

The federal government’s debt has smashed through the $1-trillion ceiling. That means your personal share of the federal debt is nearly $30,000.

You can help push back against Trudeau’s deep dive into debt by signing the online petition here https://www.taxpayer.com/petitions/stop-trudeau’s-debt-dive

Thanks for standing up for taxpayers – it’s making a difference!

Sincerely,
  • Franco, Shannon, Todd and the rest of the CTF team.
