Hello Somebody!
Earlier this week, I signed the No Corrupt Corporate Dark Money Pledge for OH-11 candidates to reject unlimited, special interest spending in our elections.
And so far, not only has NO other candidate in the race signed the pledge, one of our opponents has even tried to attack me for it — comparing our people-powered movement to Dark Money and corporate special interests.
We know that’s an absurd comparison. And the media is saying so as well. But our opponents are going to continue to do everything they can to muddy the waters and distract from our people-powered campaign. So we need your help to fight back.
Now, I’m going to continue to do the right thing and run a 100% people-powered campaign no matter what other candidates decide to do. And if they sic a Super PAC on us, so be it. That won’t stop me from running this campaign the right way.
Because I think where a politician gets their money from matters. With me, that answer is always clear — our campaign is powered by working folks like you chipping in an average of just $28 when you can afford it.
Our opponents, by refusing to sign on to the No Corrupt Money Pledge, are saying they’re ok with the status quo, where Big Money and corporate lobbyists drown out the voices of working people.
That sort of corruption is what keeps Congress from implementing wildly popular policies like Medicare for All, or raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour. But together, we’re on a mission to change all that.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. If we stand together, we can take on the Big Money flooding into this race and WIN.
With these hands,
Nina Turner
P.S. Here's the full text of the No Corrupt Money Pledge I've signed and am encouraging my opponents in this race to sign as well:
We, as candidates for Ohio’s 11th Congressional District Special Election, believe it is in the best interest of our community and our democracy for campaigns to be funded transparently and in accordance with federal campaign contribution limits—not with Big Money, Corporate special interest dollars funnelled through Corporate Super Pacs and Dark Money groups. We disavow the support of any such groups and will demand they cease their efforts. This pledge ensures the voters get the final say about who will serve as the next Congressperson for Ohio’s 11th Congressional District.
