The Week in Review

Happy Friday!

It has been another chaotic week on Capitol Hill. During the past couple days, I have been active in slowing down the Left's agenda by using every procedural tool available to prevent the passage of radical legislation. Check out the newsletter below to see what I have been up to.

Slow The Process
On Monday, I went to the House Floor to call roll-call votes on multiple suspension. We may be in the minority, but we refuse to stand by and give free rein to the Democrats' radical bills. Click on the photo below to watch a video of my take:

House Judiciary Committee
This week in a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Democrats blocked my amendment that would have prohibited sanctuary cities from receiving federal grants. The Left doesn't believe in law and order. They would rather obstruct ICE from enforcing immigration law and allow illegal aliens to flow freely across our border and into our communities. Border Security Caucus
On Tuesday, former Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Ken Cuccinelli, spoke with the Border Security Caucus about the current crisis on the southern border. Mr. Cuccinelli discussed the bad policy decisions by the Biden Administration that have created the worst immigration crisis in American history. We appreciate Mr. Cuccinelli’s candidness about this crisis and thoroughly enjoyed speaking with him. Check out the photos below from our meeting:

Letter to Department of Homeland Security
On Thursday, my office sent a letter to DHS regarding the repurposing of a local hotel in Chandler to house illegal aliens. This Administration is forcing our local communities to deal with the onslaught of immigrants who have come in the name of Biden. The American people are at the frontlines of this humanitarian crisis, and they deserve answers. Click the letter below to view:

House Freedom Caucus
Earlier this week, the House Freedom Caucus used procedural tools to slow down the passage of the Democrats' radical legislation. The Democrats are so upset with our interference that Speaker Pelosi changed the House rules, yet again, to suppress the minority party's ability to participate in the legislative process. Congressional Art Competition
Arizona’s Fifth District has many talented artists, and we have received over one hundred submissions for the 2021 Congressional Art Competition. This year’s exhibit is being held at the Chandler Museum located at 300 South Chandler Village Drive, Chandler, Arizona 85225, Tuesday - Sunday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ending on April 30, 2021. I encourage residents to participate in this year’s competition by visiting the Chandler Museum and voting for their favorite submission. Student artwork is split between the Historic Living Room and the Agave building. If you visit the Chandler Museum, I encourage attendees to tour the full exhibit. Check out photos of the art below:
