John,

I want to make sure you saw Mitch's email below. Billions of tax dollars are given away to the fossil fuel industry in direct federal subsidies EVERY YEAR.

Subsidizing dirty energy companies is reckless, but we can put an end to this. The End Polluter Welfare Act of 2021 would eliminate dozens of tax loopholes and giveaways that benefit fossil fuel billionaires.

Tell Congress: No more federal giveaways to Big Oil & Gas.

John,

Climate change is happening now. But the corporations causing this mess contribute millions of dollars to elected officials in order to stop real change. And every year, billions of tax dollars are given away to the fossil fuel industry in direct federal subsidies.

But we can put an end to this.

Senator Bernie Sanders, along with Representative Ilhan Omar, have reintroduced the End Polluter Welfare Act of 2021. This legislation would eliminate dozens of tax loopholes and giveaways that benefit fossil fuel billionaires.

Tell your member of Congress to cosponsor the End Polluter Welfare Act and cut off the flow of public dollars to corporate polluters.

We can’t continue to use the energy of the past if we are to stop climate chaos and move to a clean energy future. And we can’t stop climate chaos without taking on the fossil fuel industry and halting the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure. The End Polluter Welfare Act is a vital step toward moving us off fossil fuels.

Subsidizing dirty energy companies is reckless. Every dollar Congress gives away to failing dirty energy companies is a dollar taken from vital programs that help our communities and working families.

Food & Water Action has been working for over a decade to keep fossil fuels in the ground. And we’ve made great progress banning fracking in hundreds of communities across the country. We now have a real opportunity to push harder for the food, water and climate policies we know are right.

To make real progress, we need bold action that rapidly expands renewable energy while moving us off fossil fuels. That starts with ending the federal bankroll for the oil and gas industry.

Tell Congress: Our money SHOULD NOT be going into the pockets of fossil fuel executives.
