This is urgent -- Arctic National Wildlife Refuge must be protected? ? ? ? Take Action: Demand Legislative Protection for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

We need President Biden and Congress to stand with the Gwich'in people, whose way of life could be destroyed forever, and pass legislation restoring protections that prevent future drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

PETITION GOAL: 6,000 SIGNATURES. Add your name today ? urge the Biden administration and Congress to do whatever they can to restore protections for the Arctic Refuge. [link removed] ? SIGN NOW [link removed] ? ? ? ? ? Friend ? In its first days in office, the Biden administration acted swiftly to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, putting a temporary pause on drilling. But more still must be done.

Oil companies have drilling leases still, and additional lease sales could be on the horizon. If we don't pass legislation through Congress restoring protections, the Arctic will remain under threat ? with critical habitats for wildlife like polar bears and caribou, the climate, and the way of life of the indigenous Gwich'in people at risk of being destroyed forever.

President Biden is a committed climate and environmental justice champion, and has long been a champion of protecting the Arctic Refuge, and there's currently a narrow pro-environment majority in both houses of Congress. This is our best chance to pass legislation restoring protections for the Arctic Refuge, and right now we need to build momentum.

Will you be one of the 6,000 LCV supporters we need to urge the Biden administration and Congress to act for the Arctic ? and stand with indigenous communities like the Gwich'in ? today?

Take action now: Tell the Biden administration and Congress to restore protections and STOP all drilling in the Arctic Refuge. [link removed]

Protecting the Arctic Refuge is a matter of basic human rights. The indigenous Gwich'in people rely on the Refuge ? calling its coastal plain the "Sacred Place Where Life Begins" ? because their culture, traditions, and community are deeply tied to the land and wildlife.

Drilling would threaten the Gwich'in people's rights and way of life forever. And ANY drilling in the Arctic Refuge would release more carbon pollution at a time we should be doing all we can to transition to a clean and equitable energy future.

Our actions to protect the Arctic Refuge make a real difference, Friend. With supporters like you on our side, we've fought however we can to stop Arctic drilling ? including convincing every major U.S. bank to refuse to finance any new Arctic drilling projects while the Trump administration was fast-tracking the process of handing the Refuge over to oil companies.

With a climate champion in the White House and a pro-environment majority, NOW is the time to pass legislation and take drilling OFF the table. We must make it clear that we expect the Biden administration and Congress to do everything they possibly can to legislatively protect the Arctic and the Gwich'in people's way of life.

Will you take action in solidarity with the Gwich'in people, and demand that Biden and Congress pass legislation restoring protections for the Arctic Refuge? GOAL: 6,000 signatures today ? [link removed]

Thank you for continuing to fight for protected lands and indigenous communities when they're most threatened.
