Friend,
Three weeks of voting and a close final round later, the results are in — the target of our very first ad of the upcoming election cycle is… Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin!
All eight of the lawmakers highlighted in our initial bracket have demonstrated a record of promoting anti-voting measures that disenfranchise the most vulnerable, underserved people in our country. However, our community made it clear that Senator Ron Johnson takes the cake.
Here are just a few reasons why he’ll be featured in our first ad:
- A conspiracy theory enthusiast, Sen. Ron Johnson argued that Americans “have a lot of reasons to be suspicious” about the results of the 2020 election. We’re more than suspicious about Johnson’s ability to represent the people of Wisconsin.
- He called the deadly 1/6/21 insurrection a “jovial” protest and said he only would have been scared if Black Lives Matter or Antifa came to the Capitol. The hypocrisy and racism is blatant, yet unsurprising.
- “I think we’ve given people enough help.” Those were his words as he tried to stop people from getting $1,400 COVID-19 relief checks and more vaccines. That’s what he had to say to the Wisconsinites who were hit hardest during the pandemic.
We are fighting to preserve our congressional Democratic majority, and early investment in key swing states and districts has been and will continue to be crucial come election season. So, thanks to your help and participation, we can hit the ground running for the upcoming cycle.
Join us in our preparation to get out the vote in upcoming elections and continue to pressure our lawmakers to take action on issues we care about.
As the winner of NextGen’s campaign to identify the target of our first ad of the election cycle, Senator Johnson, we are delighted to deliver your prize on the campaign trail. We’ll see you during your run for re-election.
Catch us in the great state of Wisconsin,
NextGen America
