Tens of millions of families across the country are counting on SNAP, WIC, and the funds from the new child tax credit to be able to feed their families, to not have to choose between food and rent or between food and prescriptions.
But the 15 percent increase to SNAP benefits are set to expire come October 1st, and the child tax credit is currently only in place for 2021. Unless we act now and show Congress how essential these policies and programs are to the families hit hardest by the Covid-19 pandemic so that the funding increases are made permanent.
But we need your help to make this happen.
Will you sign our petition to Congress to extend the current funding levels for SNAP, WIC, and the child tax credit?
These programs are truly the difference between parents getting to eat dinner with their kids and families scraping buy to ensure kids eat while their parents eat whatever is left or nothing at all. It's the difference between working parents having enough money to put gas in the car without worrying about how they will afford food for the week.
As the country starts to emerge from the darkest days of the pandemic, we're all in this together to make sure no family is left behind.
