And we saw that happen yesterday when the Biden administration announced an ambitious emissions target under the Paris Agreement to cut U.S. greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030.
By setting a bold and credible Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) the U.S. has taken an essential step towards building a stronger, cleaner economy that keeps our country safer and more competitive.

The message from the Biden administration is clear: The United States is not only back, but ready to go all-in to beat the climate crisis. But to achieve this we’ll need to jumpstart progress in three key sectors: power, transportation, and methane emissions from the oil and gas sector.
This will require a “whole-of-government approach” that leverages action from the White House and Congress to enforce clean air and climate protections under existing law, enact transformative investments in the American Jobs Plan and put a limit on emissions from the power sector. This is our moment to transform our world for the better. By taking swift action to invest in clean industries and technologies, the United States can supercharge its competitiveness in the global clean energy economy.
Together we can set the world on a path towards a safer climate. Show your support for bold leadership that challenges our nation to not only catch up, but leap ahead as we continue to address the climate crisis.
