Dear Friend,

On Sunday, we hosted our first-ever virtual Nari Diwas/Women’s Day event, and also celebrated the Nepali New Year 2078. The event was an opportunity for our members to showcase their leadership by discussing our campaigns and priorities. Also, U.S. Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez (NY-7), NY State Senator Jessica Ramos (District 13) and NYC Councilmember Carlina Rivera (District 2) joined us and shared their remarks.

If you missed the virtual event, you may watch it here (The video is in Nepali with English subtitles).

The event highlighted HOW we #ChooseToChallenge patriarchy and the systemic oppression of low-wage workers and immigrants of color every day. By amplifying the voices of those often overlooked and focusing on grassroots organizing, community-driven solutions, and policy reform, we are shaping what we want for our community, for now, and for decades to come.

We know that effective grassroots organizing requires effective grassroots fundraising. At Nari Diwas we asked our members to join us in sustaining our movement and soft-launched our sustainer drive. As Adhikaar’s long-time supporter, we are inviting you to jumpstart our Sustainer Drive and enroll to donate monthly to us.

The following are the levels of support:

  • Sajhedar (Partner) @ $100/month
  • Sahayatri (Ally) @ $75/month
  • Sahayogi (Supporter) @ $50/month
  • Saathi (Friend): @ $25/month

To learn more about Adhikaar’s Sustainer Drive or sign up to be Adhikaar’s sustainer, please visit our donation page here.

Our goal is to have 25 MONTHLY SUSTAINERS by the end of the summer. Will you join us?

Please see below for directions on how to donate monthly to MightyCause. Together, we can build towards a more just and inclusive future for our communities and beyond.

In Solidarity,
