Three years ago, a gunman armed with an assault-style rifle opened fire on patrons of a Waffle House in Nashville, TN. James Shaw Jr. stopped the gunman with his bare hands and saved countless lives that day— but not before four innocent people were senselessly murdered.

Shaw was forced to take heroic action that day because our lawmakers failed to ban these weapons of war from our streets. And what’s worse is that, three years later, they have still failed to act.
John, this failure by our lawmakers has allowed hundreds more people to be killed with assault weapons, impacting innumerable lives. This month alone, we have witnessed two separate mass shootings perpetrated by a gunman with an assault-style weapon. Enough is enough.

We need to show Congress that we are sick and tired of the death and destruction military-style assault weapons bring — and to do that we need all of our grassroots activists to step up and show their support for lifesaving legislation.
