We're not going to sugarcoat this. First quarter fundraising reports are coming in, and some of the most extreme Republicans are putting up HUGE numbers:
- Sen. Ted Cruz raised $5.3 million
- Sen. Josh Hawley raised $3 million
- Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene raised $3.2 million -- and it was her first quarter in the House
- House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy pulled in an eye-popping $27.1 million
We need to keep raising the resources to compete against this wave of far-right cash, and we need to start investing NOW if we want to stand a chance. Democratic fundraising numbers need to look just as strong as the GOP's in the media.
Right now, it looks like Republicans are jumping out to an early lead in 2022. We can't let that be the headline story.
If Republicans flip the House and the Senate red in 2022, it will undo all the progress that President Biden and congressional Democrats have made this year. The obstruction and chaos they'll cause could even set the table for President Trump to run again and win in 2024.
