Hey Team,
This Earth Day, we are faced with the unquestionable threat that climate change poses to our planet, and we are challenged to stand together to protect our home for our children and generations to come.
Whether you’ve celebrated by participating in local clean up efforts (like our team did this past weekend in Marlborough!) or visiting one of Massachusetts’ incredible parks, I’m grateful to you for recognizing your critical role in protecting our planet. It’s going to take all of us doing our part and keeping up the pressure to build a greener future.
But we can’t rely solely on community efforts to reverse the damage inflicted by climate change and global greenhouse gas emissions. We need a bold, transformational course of action to fundamentally improve our country’s economic footprint -- and a great starting place is President Biden’s American Jobs Plan.
This is a direct roadmap to:
- Fix highways, rebuild bridges, and upgrade ports, airports and transit systems
- Deliver clean drinking water, a renewed electric grid, and high-speed broadband to all Americans
- Build, preserve, and retrofit more than two million homes and commercial buildings, modernize our nation’s schools and child care facilities, and upgrade veterans’ hospitals and federal buildings
- And much more
Building modern, sustainable infrastructure is a necessity in a green future. And by starting with this plan we can actually prioritize creating good-paying jobs and our communities disproportionately impacted by poor environmental factors like air and water quality.
It’s so crucial that we take care of our planet, not just today, but every day. So, thank you again for doing your part. Happy Earth Day!
