Eugene Nippard's calls are in response to an incident in Labrador earlier this month, when Howard Russell, 73, spent more than 30 hours lying on an exam table at a community nursing station in Port Hope Simpson while waiting for a medevac.

B.C. paramedics responded to 138 potential drug overdoses Wednesday, the highest number on record in a day, according to B.C. Emergency Health Services (BCEHS).
Emergency health services spokeswoman Shannon Miller said there were 45 overdose calls in Vancouver, 17 in Surrey and 10 in Victoria. The rest were across the province.

Thunder Bay paramedics will receive an 8.5 per cent pay hike over four years

Paramedics who work for Superior North EMS in the City of Thunder Bay will receive an 8.5 per cent pay increase over the four-year term of their new collective agreement.
The deal was announced on Saturday, just hours before a strike deadline.
Local 39-11 unit chair Rob Moquin said the members voted nearly 98 per cent in favour of the agreement.

Samantha Scott, 36, pleaded guilty in March to one count of dangerous driving in relation to an incident that happened in the early morning of Oct. 23, 2019, in North Vancouver.
