We promised you more details about NIAC's upcoming Virtual Gala on May 6th, so here they are! In addition to a night of speakers, comedy, and musical performances, NIAC is honoring an exceptional slate of individuals and organizations who have made major contributions to advancing the priorities of the Iranian-American community. Here are three of the award recipients we will honor during the gala:
2021 Equitable Immigration Champion Award

NIAC is proud to present the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the National Immigration Law Center (NILC) with our 2021 Equitable Immigration Champion Award. These two organizations have been integral in combating Trump's Muslim Ban and crafting the NO BAN Act, which passed the in the U.S. House just yesterday!
Community Impact Award
NIAC is honored to give our Community Impact Award to Ali Ghambari for his work to unite, strengthen, and mobilize the Iranian-American community. Ali is the owner of the Seattle-based Cherry Street Coffee House and founded the Iranian-American Community Alliance over 15 years ago. Today, this community-based organization focuses on cultural and educational programs, like the Seattle Iranian Festival and youth leadership development through community service.
Rising Star Award

NIAC is excited to honor Arianna Nassiri with our Rising Star Award for her civic leadership and service towards greater voter enfranchisement. Arianna a San Francisco resident and a mayoral appointee to the San Francisco Youth Commission. She has dedicated herself to the critical work of boosting voter representation and maintaining a fair election system.
