On Monday, I shared with you that I joined local Louisiana lawmakers,
Stacey Abrams, and the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC to endorse
Karen Carter Peterson in the special runoff election to represent
Louisiana's 2nd District.
Now, Karen's election is just two days away. Her team is on the ground,
working hard to mobilize voters in this final time period before Election
Day, helping voters find their polling places and encouraging them to cast
their ballots.
What's more, early voting ended a few days ago,
John, so these last two days
are critical to victory. Polls are predicting that this race will have a
lower turnout than other races. One vote can make all the difference in
whether we send a progressive fighter to Congress who will fight for
transformative legislation like Medicare for All and a Green New Deal — or
another establishment politician who will only uphold the status quo.
John, our
progressive coalition must continue to grow if we want to really push for
transformative legislation in Washington. Opportunities to send
progressives to Congress — especially in a non-traditional election year
like 2021 — don't come by often, and we must seize every chance we get.
