Oliver from Team Ce-Ce here! It's rare you hear from me, but with just one month until the primary election here in Allentown, I had to reach out.
I joined Team Ce-Ce as a volunteer because I saw something different in her. It's rare to see a working class candidate run for mayor. It's rare to see someone that has struggled — just as the most vulnerable members of our community struggle — run for mayor.

However, the most compelling reason was her policies, which were developed in response to community need — as a result of listening to Allentown residents.

John, I don't work in politics. In fact, this is the first political campaign I've ever volunteered with. And I knew it was going to be tough — especially when it came to fundraising. Our entire campaign team is made up of folks from marginalized communities.

I recall reading an article a few years ago by Shyamala Ramakrishna about political candidates of color, in which she said:
"Communities of color accumulate far less wealth overall than their white counterparts. As a result, candidates of color often struggle to stay above water in the costly world of political campaigns."

I’m seeing it first hand. No one works harder than Ce-Ce Gerlach — but she shouldn’t have to work as hard as she does. And she shouldn’t have to hustle one month from the primary.
