John,
Earth Day is an opportunity to check in on our goals for climate action— and to recommit ourselves to the fight for a resilient future.
It's going to take all of us to mitigate the harms of the climate crisis — and that's why I'm so grateful to have Sunrise NYC's support for our campaign.
From coastal resiliency to clean energy, ensuring that our city invests in a sustainable future is an urgent and critical task of the next Comptroller, and I'm looking forward to working shoulder-to-shoulder with the thousands of Sunrise members across the city to hold us accountable to bold climate action.Movements like Sunrise are doing incredible work both locally and nationally to build the grassroots power we need for transformative change at the scale of the Green New Deal.
I'm committed to being a strong partner in that work from the Comptroller's office — ensuring we meet our emissions reduction goals, divest from fossil fuels, expand green job opportunities, combat environmental racism, and invest in resilient infrastructure — so that we can secure a healthy and resilient future for all New Yorkers.
Don't miss this important conversation – join us tomorrow night!
Brad
P.S. A key part of the Comptroller's office is holding our city accountable to our goals — and that includes our climate goals, too. Read more about my plan for climate action & accountability here.
