Dear NRDC Action Fund Activist,

It's Earth Day, and there's nothing more important than fighting for a
more just, equal, and livable world. That must include continuing to
advance the battle for climate justice in Black and brown communities
disproportionately impacted by fossil fuel pollution and climate change.

So today, we look to the fights before us — addressing systemic racial
injustice and inequality ... getting the nation back on its feet in the
wake of the COVID-19 pandemic ... and ushering in the clean energy future
we need to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.

President Biden and his administration are the leaders we need to confront
these most urgent challenges. And the climate change fight is at the
forefront today — Biden just announced the U.S.'s commitment to slashing
climate emissions by 50-52% by 2030, a major step forward in our fight to
avert climate catastrophe and move toward a 100% clean energy future.

The White House is also hosting leaders from China, India, Germany, Japan,
and three dozen other nations for the virtual Leaders Summit on Climate —
appealing to world leaders for greater cooperation and more assertive
action to confront the worsening climate crisis.

The NRDC Action Fund is mobilizing the public, lobbying Congress, and
working with the Biden administration to make long-overdue progress toward
these goals. But we need your help to get there.

need.

We've waged dozens and dozens of environmental fights on Capitol Hill for
decades. We've helped elect environmental champions to Congress who will
carry our torch. And this year we helped elect the most pro-environment
president in history. That's why I'm proud to ask for your support today
