People For Member,

In the past year, dozens of court cases across the country have had major impacts on our environmental regulations. Trump’s far-right judges tried every avenue possible to enable corporations to abuse our environment and harm the communities most affected by climate change.

The environment is one of many major areas where courts stacked with far-right Trump judges pose a major threat, but with President Biden’s nominations to the federal courts, we have a real chance to stem the tide of damage they can cause. However, we need to get them on the bench before our environment is irreparably harmed.

Celebrate Earth Day by urging the Senate to quickly confirm President Biden's Circuit Court nominees to stem the tide of bad rulings from Trump judges that harm the environment! >>

Climate justice is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and we urgently need to confirm federal judges who understand the intersectionality of these issues.

President Biden has nominated three outstanding Black women for powerful circuit court judgeships: Ketanji Brown Jackson for the D.C. Circuit (which is often seen as a steppingstone to the Supreme Court), Candace Jackson-Akiwumi for the Seventh Circuit, and Tiffany Cunningham for the Federal Circuit.

These women are highly credentialed and accomplished; and they will also bring to the bench a lived experience and perspective that is sorely lacking from our federal courts. We need judges like these women, who would put careful consideration into all cases that passed before them – including those that involve environmental impacts, which disproportionally affect underserved communities.

Tell the Senate to act swiftly to confirm them to the federal judiciary! >>

With experienced judges like Brown Jackson, Jackson-Akiwumi, and Cunningham on the federal bench, we would have a real chance to counteract rulings by Trump judges that would have terrible and lasting consequences for our environment. And with our climate changing at an alarming rate, we don’t have any time to waste.
