Right now, there is a grim prognosis for our planet. When we see wildfires ravaging our state and seasonal droughts lasting longer than before, we can see for ourselves how urgent this issue is.
Leaders who have outright denied the reality of climate change have set a dangerous course for our planet, and if we don’t take action now, there won’t be much left for our children and grandchildren to inherit.
But with meaningful action and the right investments, we can and will combat climate change.
Today is Earth Day and I’ve set a goal. I’m looking for 5,000 people to sign on to my petition calling on Congress to take immediate action to combat pollution and global warming, in order to protect the health of our nation — and the world. Will you add your name?
San Diegans know how it feels to be hit by the effects of climate change — we all have a stake in protecting our planet.
Changes in our climate will only get worse if we don’t take action. In fact, they’ll become even more frequent and more extreme.
We must make a commitment to climate action now, and there’s no better time to do it than Earth Day!

Thank you for taking action!
