Today is Earth Day, a day about celebrating our planet and remembering our responsibility to take care of it for future generations.

With that in mind, it would be hard to let this day go by without talking to you about the single greatest threat to our planet, our environment, and our way of life: climate change.

We’ve all seen it -- extreme weather events like floods and wildfires are becoming more frequent and more severe. Climate change is a threat to not only our environment but also to every sector of our economy. It affects farmers, fisheries, small businesses, and so much else.

We need climate action now.

I’m leading the charge in the Senate to address the climate crisis head on, but I can’t do it without committed grassroots activists like you getting behind our re-election campaign. So I have to ask: If you can, will you chip in to our campaign today? [[link removed]]

In Congress, I’m fighting to:

*
Cut
greenhouse
gas
emissions
and
invest
in
zero-emission
vehicles
to
help
achieve
our
climate
goals
as
a
country
and
improve
air
quality
*
Prepare
our
financial
system
for
the
systemic
risks
posed
by
climate
change
by
stress-testing
big
banks
for
climate
risks
and
requiring
disclosure
of
emissions
from
publicly
traded
companies
*
And
make
environmental
justice
a
top
priority
by
addressing
and
reducing
environmental
and
health
disparities
in
vulnerable
communities
--
particularly
communities
of
color,
low-income
communities,
and
native
communities
--
and
helping
ensure
everyone
participates
in
the
clean-energy
economy.

With a Democratic Majority in the Senate and the Biden Administration in the White House, the commitment to climate action and environmental justice in Washington is stronger than ever and I’m confident we can make this a winning issue.

I intend to keep fighting for climate action in Congress, but I can’t do it without people like you contributing your time, energy, and financial support to our campaign. If you can, please chip in today. [[link removed]]
