ENDORSEMENT ALERT:
Check out our 2021 candidates >>
This week, we're excited to highlight these prochoice champions:

1. Emily Norwood: As the only woman running in this race, Emily Norwood has spent her entire life in the San Antonio community, and she is a dedicated champion of environmental sustainability and public safety. Her compassion and understanding for body autonomy belong on the San Antonio City Council.

2. Roberto Treviño: As an incumbent, Roberto Treviño has been the only vocal advocate for diverting funds away from a bloated policing budget and toward social programs like homeless outreach specialists. We're glad to support Roberto Treviño in his re-election campaign for City Council in San Antonio, Texas.

3. Paula Blackmon: A member of the Dallas City Council, Paula Blackmon understands that everyone deserves to live in a safe, clean, and affordable community with equitable access to the opportunities they need to thrive. She also served on the board of the Greater Dallas Reproductive Freedom and Women's Issues Network.

4. Tara Wilson: Because she has been a nurse for over a decade, Tara Wilson knows first-hand how foundational access to healthcare is -- especially reproductive and pre-natal healthcare for minority women. In 2020, she organized a community bail-fund for non-violent misdemeanor offenses so that folks could safely distance during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the death of Atatiana Jefferson at the hands of the police first sparked her interest in running for City Council in Fort Worth. We're thrilled to support her campaign.

5. Ali Ramos: Running for City Council in Amarillo, Ali Ramos is a champion for accessible and equitable healthcare. As a physically disabled woman, she's personally experienced and witnessed unequal treatment based on folks' differing circumstances and needs. With a master's degree in social work, Ali Ramos is looking to represent her hometown on the Amarillo City Council and to work for all of Amarillo's community members.

6. Janneke Parrish: Janneke Parrish is running for City Council in Round Rock to champion the creation of a public transit system, establish an equity commission to evaluation and advise city government on equitable policy, and to ensure that LGBTQIA+ rights are protected in Round Rock. She's a prochoice leader who would undoubtedly lead her community with a welcoming and inclusive approach.

7. Stephanie Bell: Running for Mayor of Flower Mound, Stephanie Bell has a passion for accessible, quality education and healthcare. When she first became a mother, she was only given 6-weeks to both take care of her newborn and to heal her body. It wasn't enough, and Stephanie Bell wants to ensure that every person has the opportunity to thrive in Flower Mound.

8. Mina Davis: Running for School Board of Trustees in Hutto, Texas, Mina Davis will be an absolute champion for parents and students, especially when it comes to sex education, as well as diversity and inclusion.
Every elected office -- from the school board to the senate -- has a role to play in protecting reproductive freedom.

We're proud to support these prochoice champions running to make a difference in Texas this year.

In solidarity,

Heidi L. Sieck
