Sen. Carlyle and his fellow Democrats on the Senate Environment, Energy & Technology Committee have pushed forward important legislation to fight climate change. We need a strong showing of support to get these bills across the finish line in the final days of the legislative session.
From wildfires ravaging communities across the west coast, to record breaking heat waves, to shrinking orca and salmon populations –– here in Washington, we have a front row seat to the climate crisis.
As Chair of our Senate Environment, Energy & Technology Committee, I have been committed to combating this pressing crisis in Washington by advocating for concrete plans to take climate action. We’ve put forward some great legislation to support the planet — from a bill setting caps on greenhouse gas emissions and advancing our electric vehicle programs to legislation supporting environmental justice and protecting our orca population in Washington.
The climate crisis is an existential threat to our planet and it cannot be ignored. Washington State continues to lead climate action as we’ve done in so many areas.
This issue is a top priority for all of the Washington Senate Democrats — we know how important it is for our state’s leaders to make concrete plans to take action to protect our environment.
