Today is Earth Day, a celebration of our planet and a call to action to address the climate crisis. Earth Day was first celebrated 51 years ago in 1970. Since then, climate change has rapidly accelerated, posing an existential threat to our planet.
I’m working to safeguard our communities from the devastating effects of climate change, defend our public lands from right-wing attacks, and protect our nation’s coastlines. After four years of the Trump administration’s relentless attacks on science-based policy and efforts to roll back environmental protections, we now have the opportunity to turn the tide in the fight against climate change.
As a member of the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis and an original cosponsor of the Green New Deal, I’m committed to passing bold legislation that matches the intensity of this crisis and meets this moment in history.
