Hello,

Martin Heinrich here. I represent New Mexico in the U.S. Senate. Cory is among my closest friends, and we’ve gotten to work together on many important pieces of legislation over the past few years. Today I want to tell you about a new bill we’re both excited about.

Almost 90 years ago, President Roosevelt founded the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) to provide young people the opportunity to work, serve their country, and help preserve our environment at the same time. The program employed over 3 million young people, helped countless families weather the Great Depression, and fostered widespread appreciation for our public lands and natural resources.

Now, Cory and I are working to pass the 21st Century Conservation Corps Act and re-institute the CCC. But we can’t pass this bill without your support. Sign on to become a citizen co-sponsor now:

Climate change is an ever-growing threat to our way of life. As the Earth continues to warm, we will experience even more extreme weather, natural disasters, droughts, and wildfires. Climate change even increases the odds of another global pandemic.

The CCC will proactively protect our public lands, prevent wildfires, droughts, other disasters, and provide an opportunity for young people to serve their nation and gain important skills.

From reforestation, to wildfire prevention, to maintenance of national parks, this program will create much-needed opportunities for young people from New Mexico to New Jersey and everywhere in between. That’s why I’m proud to stand with Cory in support of the 21st Century Conservation Corps Act. Will you sign our petition to help turn this important bill into law?

We have such a beautiful country. I’m proud to work with Cory to make sure future generations get to enjoy it. Thanks for standing with us.
